The 2 most common Cockroaches in The UK are The Oriental Cockroach (Blatta orientalis) and The German Cockroach (Blattella germanica).
The Oriental Cockroach has a shiny black to a dark reddish-brown colour and around 1 inch In length. The males are smaller than the females and have three-quarter-length wings whilst the females have short wings.
The German Cockroach is around 1.1 to 1.6 cm and can be distinguished by their light brown colouring and parallel stripes.

Cockroaches are usually found anywhere where there is warmth & food. This can vary from the bathroom, to the kitchen and even airing cupboards.
